To all FBB BBS SysOp's
======================
New REQDIR, REQFIL and FNDFIL servers
=====================================
Version 2 of my REQDIR, REQFIL and FNDFIL servers are now available.
These are designed to work will FBB V5.14d and later, and make use of the
multiple disk drive facility in the new FBB release. They will not work
with earlier FBB versions. However, my Version 1 servers will work with
earlier releases and are still available. The latest version is 1.08.
Here is a summary of the facilities that the new servers offer :-
1. Use with any of the eight real or virtual drives defined in INIT.SRV.
2. Run immediately an incomming request is received.
3. Will automatically split long REQFIL or REQDIR replies into seperate
reply messages, to prevent large replies causing network congestion.
4. REQDIR replies may optionally include the FBB labels describing files,
that a live user would see by using the LIST command. This facility
may be used on any directory and is fully configurable by the SysOp.
The SysOp may choose not to use this facility, on any or all directories
in which case a normal four column directory listing will result.
5. The are a large number of SysOp configurable text files, which will
"personalise" the reply from your BBS. If you decide not to use this
facility, the program will use default text.
6. User help if an input message contains an error. SysOp configurable
text or program default may be used.
7. Full SysOp and User documentation is supplied with the distribution.
Latest CARBON COPY server
=========================
The latest version of my CARBON COPY server (V 2.06) is now available.
A number of minor bugs have been fixed and new facilities added.
This software and my other programs for FBB BBS, which is all released
into the Public Domain, can be obtained from the modem port of GB7CHS.
The software is contained in the C:\SOFTWARE.WCS\BINARY directory.
If you require a password, drop me a message first.
Alternatively, send me a disk (3.5 or 5.25) (360, 720, 1.2 or 1.4), with
mailer and return postage / IRC.
Please do not request the software using 7PSERV over great distances.
Best 73,
Ken Wood G3WCS.
